The Moravian Silesian Region Region with a Clear Idea of Development Moravskoslezský kraj region s jasnou vizí rozvoje Leaders Magazine II 2009 87 Moravskoslezský kraj největší a nejlidnatější kraj České republiky je stabilizovaným regionem s jasnou vizí rozvoje který má co nabídnout jak svým obyvatelům tak návštěvníkům K jeho přednostem patří poměrně silný průmysl i nádherná příroda jejímž klenotem je překrásné pohoří Beskydy Krátce řečeno Moravskoslezský kraj má velký potenciál a pracovité lidi kteří jej dokáží dobře využít Pokud jde o další rozvoj kraje naší prioritou bude kromě dobudování dopravní infrastruktury a propojení Letiště Leoše Janáčka v Mošnově s železnicí a dálnicí i podpora menších obcí Chceme totiž aby se Moravskoslezský kraj rozvíjel rovnoměrně a aby veškerá pozornost nebyla směřována jen na velká průmyslová centra kraje Další prioritou je oblast životního prostředí kde by k zlepšení měla kromě stavby obchvatů měst pomoci také právě probíhající jednání se všemi většími znečišťovateli ovzduší Ta se týkají jejich přístupu k této problematice v dalších letech Protože nám jde o kvalitativně vyšší stupeň rozvoje regionu chceme do Moravskoslezského kraje přitáhnout výroby s vyšší přidanou hodnotou Tomu by mohlo pomoci například vybudování zázemí elektrotechnické fakulty a zřízení fakulty lékařské Spolu s primátorem města Ostravy a s rektory budeme hned v začátku roku 2009 společně hledat cestu k financování těchto projektů Ty by měly přinést profit nejen Moravskoslezskému kraji ale i jeho okolí Náš region rozhodně není izolovaným subjektem Ba naopak Mezi specifika Moravskoslezského kraje patří jeho sousedství se Slovenskem a Polskem které je základem rozvíjející se příhraniční spolupráce Prostřednictvím Asociace krajů České republiky samozřejmě rozvíjíme i spolupráci s ostatními kraji naší země Oceňuji že můžeme využít zkušenosti jiných krajů a společně pracovat na řešení závažných problémů které musíme řešit Cenné poznatky však čerpáme také u našich partnerských regionů jimiž jsou francouzský region Lotrinsko Slezské vojvodství Severní Porýní Vestfálsko Žilinský samosprávný kraj britský region North East a oblast Vologda z Ruské federace Za velmi důležitou a nezbytnou považuji i komunikaci s vrcholovými představiteli České republiky kde chci využít svých osobních kontaktů na jednotlivé členy vlády aby kraj v budování dopravní infrastruktury a v oblasti dalších rozvojových projektů nezůstával pozadu I když toho se neobávám Moravskoslezský kraj má totiž veškeré předpoklady a potenciál k tomu aby se rozvíjel po všech stránkách a v plné šíři Jaroslav Palas hejtman Moravskoslezského kraje The Moravian Silesian Region the largest and most densely inhabited region of the Czech Republic is a stable region with a clear idea of its development it has a lot to offer to its inhabitants as well as to the visitors The following features belong among its assets a considerably strong industry and beautiful nature with its jewel the wonderful Beskydy Mountains In short the Moravian Silesian Region has a great potential and hardworking people who are able to use it wisely As for the further development of the region our priority will be the finishing of the traffic infrastructure and the interconnection of the Airport of Leoš Janáček in Mošnov with railways and motorways as well as the support of smaller towns and villages We want well balanced development of Moravian Silesian Region it means not to centralize all our interest only in large industrial centres of the region Our next priority is the environment where we will be able to ameliorate the situation not only by the construction of circumferential highways around towns and cities but also by proceedings with all larger polluters These proceedings are aimed at their approach to this issue in the following years As we try to reach a higher level of the development in the quality of the region we want to drag industries with higher added value to the region This can be helped e g by the formation of the background of the faculty of electrical engineering and by the establishment of the faculty of medicine We are going to seek ways of financing these projects at the very beginning of 2009 at a meeting with the mayor of Ostrava and rectors The upper mentioned projects should be profitable not only for the Moravian Silesian Region but also for its neighbours Our region is not an isolated subject On the contrary one of the specific features of the Moravian Silesian Region is its central position among its neighbours Slovakia and Poland which forms the basis of the developing frontier cooperation Through the Association of Regions of the Czech Republic we of course develop our cooperation with other regions in our country too I regard highly our ability to draw on experience from other regions and to work on the approach to important issues Moreover we can draw on valuable findings from our partner regions Lorraine in France Silesian Voivodeship North Rhine Westphalia the self governing region of Žilina the British region North East and the region of Vologda in the Russian Federation I think that one of the most important and necessary features is the communication with the highest representatives of the Czech Republic in which I intent to use all my personal contacts with the members of the government in order to help my region so that it does not lag behind in the sphere of the construction of traffic infrastructure and in other developmental projects But I am not afraid of this The Moravian Silesian Region has
